-Looks like we now know what one of the future IC specials is going to be.

Early today, a bunch of celebrities starting tweeting pictures from a mysterious party involving the IC members. More specifically, Hong Jin Young and G.O.D's Park Joon Hyung.

Both described how they stayed up all night recording with the IC members.

Eventually, MBC posted up a preview on their press site where they explained that this was a "Sleepless nights in Seoul" special, an impromptu summer special, where the members call up random people and have them show up for a party. The people that ended up coming were Hong Jin Young, Kim Jae Dong, Ryu Seung Soo, Nam Chang Hee, Lee Kook Joo, Kim Won Joon, god's Park Joon Hyung, Danny Ahn and I believe Son Ho Young.

The episode is expected to air "soon" (Maybe this week, maybe not)

-Infinity Challenge has finally regained the top spot in Gallup research's "Programs most loved by Koreans" survey. It had been coming 2nd for the last few months due to a host of popular dramas but managed to retake the throne this month with 10.6% of the total tally. 2nd was Running Man with 4.6% of the tally.

Their research also showed that IC's biggest supporters were 20~30's students and white/blue collar workers.

-More IC news, as IC's Election 2014 special won the "This month's PD award," handed out by the Korean PD association. The award ceremony will be held in MBC's new headquarters on August 1.

When asked for comments, TEO PD stated that "The Election 2014 election was prepared because we truly wanted to give a voice to the wise wisdom of our viewers, who have been leading IC over the past years." "The IC staff and members are all sincerely happy and thankful."

-There is some major changes coming to Happy Together Season 3.
First off, long term resident MCs Shin Bong Sun and Huh Kyung Hwan will make way for Kim Shin Young and Jo Sae Ho.

They will also be changing the set concept from a Sauna to a Fire Sauna and they are also debating whether to have their recordings indoors or outdoors.

Some of these changes will be first seen on the episode airing in mid August, with first recording with the new MCs being held on August 2nd.

*looks up pictures of Kim Shin Young and Jo Sae Ho*
OMFG NO!!! T___T

I only know them from the episodes they appeared on HT, but them replacing Bongsun and the other guy? Ick. :badmood:

Not to mention any new host addition to any show will either fade to the background or try really hard to stand out and I can definitely see these two butchering HT. I think I have a better of image Kim Shin Young but Jo Sae Ho not so much. My dislike of the changes won't make a difference so I really hope to gawd that I'm wrong here since I don't know them all that well.

Unfortunately for you (And maybe others), neither Kim Shin Young or Jo Sae Ho is the "Fading" type. They are going to be extremely proactive and you just know that these new MC additions was 100% Jae Suk's idea because no one else would actually use Jo Sae Ho in this situation.

But that's the least of their concerns. They need to do something about the actual program concept itself. Giving their set a new coat of paint isn't going to make the whole thing suddenly more appealing, especially when we have the luxury of watching two Yoo Jae Suk talk shows on the same channels back to back

You know i've been a bit wondering. How much authority does someone in Jaesuk's position (being the main mc of a program, veteran in the industry etc etc) has in a show? Well of course everybody has to chip ideas and all for the program but the final say would be in the PDs right? Um, and writers, or well, the staffs idek. Okay i dont really know how behind-the-scene world works.

Jaesuk is respected and all but seeing that seems like all his programs listens to him (i assume at least about casting since i see many of his fave people pops up in his shows) sometimes its...i cant find the right expression, like go 'hoo~' *nods*, well, like that.

I kinda like shin bong sun tho, its a bit sad seeing her has to go. TT_TT

Jae Suk has a lot of say in the programs he is involved in BUT that is also because he is actively putting himself in that position. They have mentioned before how Jae Suk would participate in a lot of the program concept meetings and hold extended discussions with the staff (They talked about this jokingly on IC when they said there is no point saying anything because Jae Suk was just going to decide things with TEO).

Of course the final say is with the staff but if Jae Suk goes "Yeah I would like to see Shin Young and Se Ho come in," you can bet anything that the staff are going to happily bend over and go "Yeah that's a great idea!"

I guess in the end, Jae Suk has shown a knack for not making too many wrong decisions in terms of guest recruitment so staff have no reason to doubt his choices (i.e. Jun Ha and Myung Soo were cast into IC because of Jae Suk, Kwon Oh Joong is clearly in I'm A Man because of Jae Suk, Jae Dong appearing frequently on IC etc etc)

May be a bit of topic but regarding Kwon oh Joong on I'm a Man, do you think that he is the right casting? Hongchul was actually a large part of the entertainment factor during the first episode so I wonder how they will fill that gaping hole in future episodes, especially since the first episode wasn't great either. (how long can the Wonhee anxiety thing last and Kyunghwan was rather boring).

Not sure about right choice but I think he was the only choice that could have worked on short notice. There isn't a lot of other celebrities that have worked in depth with Yoo Jae Suk that is comfortable being just a panel member.

Now to answer the actual question, I think he will do better than Wonhee. From what I've seen of him so far, he does seem a bit more comfortable being proactive and at least on Come To Play, he matched up with Jae Suk very well. He's also more "manly" and I think that will work into the concept of the show.

All speculation of course but we'll see once the show airs
