Ah? No continuation of hongchul's blind date item? Are they replace it for good because lots criticism or just postpone it? Aaaahh who will be the new leader why am i nervous? lolMy personal favorite is Jaesuk but i actually wish hyungdon or hongchul win. I think that would be funnier somehow and maybe new interaction flow too. And Jaesuk getting bullied is fun too see i guess lol. |

Anyway, I'm not even sure what direction JHD wants to take the show so I'd hope YJS or at least NHC won the election. Though, all of the candidates I see as capable though so at least it's a relief that HaHa, JJH, and PMS was out of the picture since last week. Well, the results will be out soon enough. Edit: Watched it raw. So I guess getting flogged for the sp might mean it won't be continued. Sux. I truly enjoyed it. More than anything, I think the guys enjoyed it and you could seriously see how much they cared for NHC and vice versa. It's an utter disappointment and waste. I think it's depressing the fact that recently IC have been pressed no thanks to the scrapping of so many ideas/opportunities. I really need some closure to all the different sps the show have introduced just this year. At least the elections are over though, although it'd be nice if they followed up with a plain and simple episode of the new leader and the Mudo guys or the staff in a meeting just brainstorming about new changes and making it happen. That'd be the best way to see the effect of the election and have a conclusion to it. That's just my wish. Anyway, I absolutely LOVED the inclusion of the images of the three candidates whenever the votes were announced. Them getting punished and the reactions almost cartoonish was so cute! And I'm very glad you-know-who won, but sort of pitied the fact that IC lost its chance to revolutionize through the losing candidate's pledges. At the end of this episode, it was nice to see the boys fanboying and not in the overboard obnoxious way they do for idols or young actresses. They really showed they were fans of hers. Overall, nice episode, although the shorter latter half to me felt a little rushed. Edited by kanu_x, May 31 2014, 10:55 PM.

I think a lot of specials leading up to the World Cup are going to be rushed. The Sewol Incident along with Gil's incident have really put a major spanner into IC's schedules. It's a bit of a shame that they had to apologize/cancel the Hong Chul Lets Get Married special. I guess at this point, it's better to appease than keep going with it (What with the negative mood in Korea and all) but it's extremely frustrating to see the amount of criticism the show is getting in recent months compared to other shows like RM, Happy Together and what not. I guess the show is an easy target for criticism given its age and general youth bias but eh.... Interesting to see how close the final vote was. I expected there to be a bit more gap between the candidates but we got a very close battle. It really was a rather ambitious special and the only disappointment is that a bit more time and planning could have made the special a lot better (i.e. a bit more of a gap between the two debates). For a fairly rushed special to coincide with the general regional elections, I say it served its purpose, which is to garner public interest in the elections. And lets just let it sink in. There were over 450,000 people that participated in the votes, half of which was actually in person. You can say whatever you want about the show (whether the show is a shell of its former self etc etc) but you ain't going to get any other show that can garner that kind of public response and in the end that really is the best metric to judge how popular the show still is |

"...given its age and general youth bias..." I don't understand how is this make them an easy target for criticism tho. Isn't happy together also has been running for almost forever? Well, i mean, what i understood when you mention age is about how long the show has been running. And general youth bias..does it mean that the ones watching the show mostly youth? If so rm for example is also like that or, well, they basically targeted people in their 10's from their content so far. Or i misunderstood. I dont understand korean so i dont know just how much and what criticism ic has received. I thought they got criticized because theyre really popular and influential in a way, and given the show nature, somehow, people, experts, and whatnot start to expect something more grande come from them. |

Happy together has changed formats multiple times over the last several years and it doesn't have the fan base of a variety show (Everyone knows it's just a talk show designed to promote KBS shows) RM's age group is 10's while IC is 20's 30's, which the show targets appropriately. But a lot of the more diehard anti fans are in 10's group. "Youth" was probably the wrong word there, more like "University students and above." Then obviously there is the stuff you mention like popularity and influence. Frankly a lot of the criticism I see come down to "Not as fun as it used to be," "TEO PD is getting lazy," "I don't want to see Gil," "That was stupid," "The games aren't as fun as RM." etc To be honest, I haven't seen one decent criticism that actual explains in detail WHAT they don't like about the show. It's just a lot of hit and run criticism, which tends to be pretty common on the more public comment sections on Korean news sites like Daum and Naver -.-" |

Aah~ those criticisms that sounds like buzzing mosquito's sound on your ear in the morning. No matter how much you shoo them away they just keep coming til you slap them flat. I thought many people were like, writing essays or something and many negative articles etc. As you say tho, no matter what the comment board said about the show this election shows just how much ic is loved. And tbh, i think ic team is wise and fast on reading situation and take action so in the end they still got the upper hand in a a way. |

It was heartbreaking to see the members have to apologise for that sp. I don't quite understand why it caused discomfort to viewers. I found myself laughing so hard when watching that sp. |

Just watched the subbed version of this episode....and am super sad that Let's Get Married is CANCELLED??? Especially since he probably already went on a few dates. I am more sad about it getting cancelled than about Yoo Jae Suk being elected...I mean I love him and all but come on, Husband Swapping?? I wanna see their kids too. awww....I personally think RM is the one getting lazy, they keep reusing the same ideas these days. I'm only watching it because of the cast... Anyway....maybe it's better that Hongchul didn't get elected, since he can go on his solo europe trip after having that horrible cancer scare...... |
