The top 3 racers showed off some impressive driving skills during their first practice. Now it's time for them to start racing in earnest.
Right from the outset, Yoo-macher Jae Suk receives admiration from his mentor.
For one person, this is finally his chance to beat Jae Suk in a special. Thus Myung Soo has his eyes set on Jae Suk alone!
And finally, there is someone just nipping at Myung Soo's heels.

The moment Jun Ha gets behind the wheels, he shows off some text book driving, following the lines to perfection.
The trio of aces start to receive detailed lessons from their mentors to begin improving on their records.
Their skills start to improve drastically as their mentors provide them with key pieces of knowledge.
They begin to break their own records constantly and even start to approach the lap times of professional drivers.
One of the members even gets told by the mentors that he should start racing immediately.
Meanwhile record hunter Myung Soo is starting to become anxious thanks to the pursuit of cornering expert "Jung Line."
His excessive greed even results in a massive unexpected incident.
The close battle between the top 3. Who will win?

# Practice is the only way forward..!
Meanwhile, the automatic transmission members need to first learn how to drive a manual car.

The world of racing gets harder and harder the more they learn about it.
The 7 beginner racers will soon be deciding who will compete in the actual races/
They begin intensive training to upgrade their skills.
From learning how to drive on wet surfaces to experiencing various circuit layouts.
One of the members even catches up to the record of professional racers and is asked by Jae Suk to be his manager. Who was this member?

The race between Yoo Jae Suk and Park Myung Soo was intense but the most intense race was between Jung Hyung Doon and Park Myung Soo. JHD and PMS have almost the same level, but Myung Soo has some trouble with the curves. I see Myung Soo learned something from his mistakes, especially during the race between him and YJS.
In this episode i found why Myung Soo had bruise on his shoulder.
And now the aces!!!

Good episode. Lets just go over some of the stuff we've seen from this episode and see what's changed since the last one.

First off lets talk race tracks

Here is a course layout of the Injae Race Circuit
Posted Image

and here is the layout for the Taebaek Circuit
Posted Image

and finally here is the circuit for the Songdo KSF race
Posted Image

As you can see from the pictures, the actual Songdo track matches more closely with the sweeping flowing design of the Taebaek Circuit rather than the more technical and longer Injae Full Course Circuit (On that note, they had to change circuits midway through this episode as Injae is currently unavailable due to what I believe is renovation work.)

The shorter more flowing layout of Taebaek/Songdo is going to probably benefit Park Myung Soo and Yoo Jae Suk the most. Their more aggressive driving styles won't be as severely punished as they would on the more technical Injae Track. Even near the end of the Injae practices, you can see that Myung Soo sort of plateaued in terms of lap times at around the 2:11 mark while both Jun Ha and Jae Suk seemed to have some room for further lap time improvements.

The other drivers (Hyung Don, Haha, Hong Chul, Gil) are all currently suffering from having to learn how to drive a manual car from scratch so all their lap times are affected by having to constantly worry about their gear shifts. Despite that, Jung Hyung Don seems to be doing amazingly well on the Injae track and I suspect he might turn some decent times on the Taebaek/Songdo tracks as there is a lot less gear changes involved in the course.

I mentioned above that the more aggressive drivers are going to benefit more from the shorter less technical track and that really just comes down being able to brake later and accelerate much harder through the exit of the corners. When you drive like that in a technical track like Injae, you tend to overshoot your corners a lot and then put yourself in a bad situation for the next corner.

However on the Taebaek/Songdo circuits, most of the corners are very quick and quite shallow, with no blind crests and corners. Someone like Jae Suk and Myung Soo will build up a lot of momentum and then keep it as long as they don't make any mistakes.

Jun Ha however might suffer a bit on this sort of layout. He is easily the best at following the race line (Followed closely by Hyung Don and Jae Suk) but he's just a bit too cautious so he's braking quite early and isn't as fast exiting the corner as Jae Suk was. His cleaner style will help him out in the early parts of the race and he'll get into a nice rhythm of sorts but he is going to lose time to Jae Suk bit by bit before finally being overtaken and then he'll have a very hard time catching up if he keeps to his original flow.

One thing that impressed me during this episode thou was how Hyung Don would aggressively defend his line during the races. He would purposely cut into the inside corner to block out the driver behind him and he would be constantly engaging in mind battles with his other racer (In his case, Park Myung Soo). He would have easily won had he been more familiar with manual transmissions (Him missing the 3rd gear and shifting into 5th was critical). At this point I really do think Hyung Don is going to end up competing toe and toe with Jun Ha and be a lot more consistent than Myung Soo is.

Myung Soo on the other hand is just too rushed. He can be really fast at times but he is just too damn inconsistent. Him smashing into the side rails probably did nothing for his confidence as well. He gets frayed a bit too easily and the moment that happens his braking, accelerating and cornering all completely break down. And even worse, once he loses concentration, he never seems to regain it.

Compare his demeanour to Yoo Jae Suk or Jung Hyung Don, neither seem to be heavily affected when they make a mistake and keep their cool throughout their races. Myung Soo and Jun Ha both break down the moment they make any sort of mistake or end up in a compromising situation. Neither drivers lost because they were worst drivers, both lost because they weren't as sharp minded as their competitor.

Meanwhile at the bottom of the pile, Haha and Hong Chul are both reasonably matched. Hong Chul seems to have the slight upper hand but both are still struggling with having to learn how to drive a manual car. Gil is a lost cause at this point. He has neither the confidence or the driving skill to put up a challenge unless he suddenly puts in a whole bunch of practice laps. Even then I don't think he'll make up his current 30sec+ deficit to the leading drivers.

As of now, I would rank the drivers as such

Jae Suk = Jun Ha > Hyung Don = Myung Soo > Hong Chul = Haha > Gil.

The top 4 drivers are separated by less than 6 seconds and Jae Suk seemed to be hitting a plateau near the end of the episode so both Hyung Don and Myung Soo could catch up to the top 2.

It will be interesting to see who ends up getting the other 3 places in the KSF race (The IC team has 4 total places).

Right now I'm going to guess Jun Ha, Hyung Don with Myung Soo competing with Hong Chul

^ I'm awed by YJS and JHD's composure on the track. Their expressions are collected and you can literally see their brains spinning when they're racing. Unconsciously, they exude a lot of charisma. In contrast, not only JJH and PMS lose their heads too easily, but the rest of the members do, too. Keeping your cool really can have an overall effect.

Aside from YJS and JJH, I'm rooting quite hard for Hyung Don. I think he has more potential than the rest of the other members. I think PMS has reached his limit. I don't know about Gil, but he stands out even less as a racer than NHC and HaHa. But I guess his silly mistakes is a sort of breather amid the tension in the episode.

I don't know how often professional racers make mistakes on the track at his level, but I think the IC members are still making too many mistakes i.e. are still too much rookies. In the last race between JJH and YJS, Jun Ha's mistake cost him a lot. At this point I'm nervous for them. And although they are a lot better than the last time, I don't think they have great control over the cars yet.
